Sabena - Defunct national airline of Belgium

Sabena went bankrupt and ceased flying on November 7, 2001. It was believed that the main cause of the bankruptcy was due to its major shareholder, Swissair's downfall following the 9/11 crash.

The new name, Brussels Airlines, is the reincarnation of the bankrupt national Belgium carrier.
